Feed Safety: GMP+ - and GTP COCERAL - Certification
The GMP+ Certificate as suitable instrument for risk management and feed safety at all feed chain stages
GMP+ Standard was 1992 initially developed by the Dutch feed industry as response to the requirement of better animal feed safety control. Meanwhile it has established itself as worldwide-applied set of regulations for feed safety assurance. For the purpose of complete traceability and feed safety assurance all economic agents throughout the entire feed chain – from feed production, trade, storage/ handling and transport up to livestock owner- were included.
By a way of mutual recognition with the QS system provider companies certified according to GMP+ are enabled to deliver into the QS-System.

Permit for GTP/COCERAL
COCERAL is the European Association for trading with cereals, rice, feed, oilseeds, olive oil, oils and fats. The GTP-Code (Good Trading Practice) developed by COCERAL consists of collecting, storing and trading cereals, oilseeds, protein crops and other plant products as well as by-products resulting from them.
The GTP-implementation within the food and feed chain grants transparency in terms of food and feed safety as well as consumer health safety. The European GTP Code is conceived as a modular part of a quality management system (ISO 9001 and HACCP) covering the whole food and feed chain which should enhance and maintain costumer confidence.
HACCP – HAZARD ANALYSIS CRITICAL CONTROL POINT:
HACCP-Concept is a system that wards off significant foodborne health hazards. The concept identifies, assesses, records continually and controls such health hazards.
The backbone of the HACCP-Concept is built by its term-definitions. They ensure its correct application. Critical Control Point is a step at which control can be applied and is essential to prevent or eliminate a food safety hazard or reduce it to acceptable level. Hazard is a biological, chemical or physical agent or factor in, or in condition of, food with the potential to cause an adverse health effect.
International binding version of the HACCP-Concept is to be found in the set of regulations of FAO/WHO Codex Alimentarius, which is a part of “The Codex General Principles of Food Hygiene”.
ÖHMI EuroCert® can assess your HACCP-system by means of audit (conduction) und accordingly certify your conformity with the Codex Alimentarius Directives. These procedures are carried out together with the appropriate positive list.
